On the other hand, 51's tao huay is so smooth that it's unreal. You practically can eat this without using a spoon.

Both Lao Ban and 51 produces Tao Huay so outstanding and out of this world that even myself, find it hard to decide which is better. For all Tao Huay lovers, just head there to determine yourself. Just buy both and try it out yourself. After all, they’re only $1.50 a bowl~ XD

Cheap deals at Chinatown!

Hey there Wonderers! Shopping can be pretty pricey, in places like Orchard or Vivocity. But fear not, here’s what we’ve found in a street at Chinatown!

One pair of flats for $10!

This shop is located in a street at Chinatown , along the street with the tentage. Guess how much each flats cost? It’s only for $10 !! The flats are of canvas material with many different patterns to choose from.Where else can you find shoes at this price?! We were pretty surprised to find those shoes with such a price. The flats come in different sizes and they’re very comfortable. Great for school days/casual dressing.

Another great buy would be at the shop called Isle, located near the entrance of Chinatown MRT. Here’s how the shop looks like :

This shop sells mainly dresses, tops, skirts, bags, and accessories. For those of you who like Bohemian/tribal/printed stuffs, this shops’s perfect!

50% off maxi dresses!

30% off for bags!

Patchwork bags

Here are our wanderers doing their own shopping!

our wanderer, Charlene, admiring the patchwork

one of our wanderers, Hasinah, checking out a bag

Jasmine, our wanderer, contemplating which bag to buy

Bangles - 1 for $6, 2 for $10

The price for the accessories in Isle definitely pales in comparison to other shops in shopping malls. So why spend alot on a single accessory when you can buy two for the price of one?

                                                                     Location

Once you’ve reached Chinatown MRT, turn left and find exit A. The Isle shop’s just beside this entrance.

Alright Wonderers, go ahead and start shopping! I believe there’s much more hidden deals waiting to be discovered!

Books At A Bargain!

Hey there Wonderers, ever felt the frustration of not being able to get the book that you are dying to read because it’s too expensive or you can’t find it in the library? Well, I share these frustrations!

So, to satisfy my appetite for books, I went hunting for a shop. I found a shop called Pro Saint Book Store. This shop is located at Bras Basah Complex, Blk 231 Bain Street. Thanks to the circle line, it is easier to get there. Simply take the circle line and drop at the Bras Basah MRT station and it is just a short five minute walk.

MAP

Exit the MRT station, you’ll see the NTUC Trade Union, then walk along the SMU Administration Building. Then further up, when you see the Siakson Building, walk towards it. Next to it is the Bras Basah Complex. Upon reaching, go up to the second level.  There awaits you, the book lover’s heaven!

The books are organized with rows and rows of shelves. The books range from chick lits to true stories, horror to mysteries and autobiographies to comic books! The prices of the books are discounted. You can buy it or rent it as well as sell it back.  While in the shop, I felt like I was lost in a world of my own as I indulged in the book titles surrounding me.

But what made me so excited were the books on sale! One book costs $4, and it’s 3 for $10. I had a hard time choosing which books to buy because they were all great ones.

Alas, I finally decided on these three books:

Weekend In Paris by Robyn Sisman

Betrayed by P.C Cast + Kristin Cast, The second of the eight House Of Night Novels

The Unfortunate Miss Fortunes by The Little Black Dress                                                         Jennifer Crusie, Eileen Dreyer, Anne Stuart

So Wonderers, go ahead and indulge yourselves with the wide variety of books at Pro saint bookshop, I assure you will not regret it!

An eye for Moroccan?

Hey wassup Wonderers~ Ethan here and once again it’s another recommendation comin up~

I saw the comment left by Khai and I quote:”Kinda hard to find halal restaurants in town. ” and you could use something ‘without pork and alcohol’ Well Khai~ If you’re reading this, all I can say is PROBLEM SOLVED! ^^

Just 3 days ago, my friends told me about a dish called ‘Couscous’ and it grabbed my attention. My friend described it as ‘Cui Pasta’ (meaning smashed up pasta in Hokkien) and it was really interesting, so as a Wanderer, I was dying to find out more about it.

And so, I came to this small restaurant located in Arab Street named Deli Moroccan

Being new to this, I allowed my friends to do the recommendations as usual. I was really excited about the prospect of trying out ‘Couscous’ for the first time. But for starters, this was what we had.

Pita Bread

Pita Bread

Hummus

The pita bread itself is tasteless, because it's meant to be eaten with Hummus or any sauce based dishes. Together, it's a smooth and silky combination.

After starters, I finally saw Couscous for the first time~ It didn’t look impressive at first but when I tried it, a burst of flavor just hit my mouth and it was really great.

The Chicken Couscous with 7 vegetables

The Lamb Couscous with 7 vegetables

Both couscous taste fantastic. The selling point of these 2 dishes would probably be the fact that it is a great combination of meat and vegetables. Because of that, although the dish is full of flavors but it’s not so overwhelming to the point that you’ll get sick of it. The meat is tender and not to forget the Couscous that’s smooth and goes really well with the dish itself.

Not only the Couscous that was good, dishes like the Lamb Tajine and Chicken Kebabs were great as well.

The Lamb Tajine is very well stewed and the meat is tender and it's absolutely brilliant.

The Chicken Kebab is a must have for meat lovers. Every mouthful is flavorful of herb and spices, leaving you craving for more.

Finally, we ended the meal with a glass of Mint Tea. The tea has a sweet and minty taste, it tastes a bit too sweet but it works well to clear off the flavors and it’s refreshing as well.

End your meal with a refreshing glass of Moroccan Mint Tea

Overall, it was an amazing experience and I highly recommend Deli Moroccan to you Wonderers. Do try it out if you happen to wander into Arab Street and I promise you that you won’t regret it.  🙂

Do bring friends along if you wanna try this out, the portioning of the dishes is quite decent hence encourages sharing and giving you the freedom to order a variety. If you’re soloing, I highly suggest a combination of any Couscous and a side of Kebabs. You’ll be amazed by the fact that it will cost you less than $20 for this sumptuous meal.

Address: Deli Moroccan

And so, this concludes this Khai’s food post request~ Hope you Wonderers will give this a shot as well. Feel free to leave comments and tell me how you think about this review~ ^^

Also, remember to stay tuned to WW for more upcoming posts. Till then this is Ethan, Rock On Wonderers~!~
